Keller’s fans say the nicest things…

February 13, 2013

From an email I just received:

“…It is obvious to me why I love Bernie, Evan, and the Scudder ensemble, but not so much so why I love Keller. He is so calming yet fascinating, like Jane Austen.

“And one cannot explain: ‘LB has this series about a contract hit man that evokes in me the same reactions I have to Austen.’ (Typical responses: ‘Ah, yes, Elizabeth Bennett sleeps with the fishes.’) Thank you for giving us more and for including more of Julia and Jenny.

“As with all your characters, I will confuse myself because I think I know these people, even the marginal ones. Your fiction is one of the few where the suspension of disbelief is permanent…”

Keller has the most remarkable fans. And, if you’ve not yet joined their ranks, well, here’s your chance.

All in all Keller is a cold blooded killer and Dot a very mentally sick person. I would hope that someday they are both made to pay for their crimes.

    • I think the person who really ought to be held accountable is whoever ties you up and forces you to read the books. But, um, thanks for sharing.

My brother Larry and I love your books. Thanks for writing instead of sitting around thinking about writing as some (Yours Truly in Indiana) do. Also I feel as if I have been to New York City because of your characters. 🙂 Awesome!

    • Thanks. But there’s nothing wrong with sitting around thinking about writing. Or, for that matter, sitting around and thinking about something else altogether…

What do you think?
