LB’s back from vacation, and we’ve got a full line of his books and audio, ranging from bargain-priced specials to rare collectibles. And right now we’re featuring the Philatelic Edition of HIT ME, the fifth book about Keller, everyone’s favorite hit man. Here’s the Souvenir Sheet we’re giving away free to early responders:

A POLICY UPDATE, A SUGGESTION ON ORDERING, AND A FEW ADDITIONS

We just got word from eBay that we’d been promoted to Top-Seller Status, and listed at the Bronze Performance Level. We’re not sure just what that amounts to, but it has to be good, right?

One perk is a discount in the fees they charge us, provided we reduce our posted handling time from 3 business days to 1, and maintain a 14-day return policy. We already had the return policy on everything but audiobooks, but we’ve now extended it to include them as well. And, since we’ve filled all orders within a day of receipt, we were happy to embrace that policy as well. So now it’s official: we’ll ship your order right away, and we’ll accept returns.

We’re able to fill overseas orders, but if you’re ordering from outside the US, the Priority Mail postage is going to be expensive. You can minimize costs by ordering more than one item at a time and requesting an invoice from us; we’ll be able to combine shipping charges and very likely save you some money.

Since yesterday’s post, we added several anthologies, an audiobook, and a couple of items I’d ike to call to your attention:

RONALD RABBIT IS A DIRTY OLD MAN. We opened a box and found copies of ASAP’s large-format limited editions, both the trade paperback @ 49.99 and the deluxe acrylic-slipcased hardcover @ $99.99. (We’d listed the paperback earlier and sold out; then we found these, thought hard about raising the price, and decided to leave it unchanged.) Whether or not you want these, have a look at the listings.

Also from Jim Seels and ASAP: LB’s Bibliography, the 1993 limited edition. There’s a new and far more comprehensive bibliography of LB’s work currently in preparation, but this book is a brilliant collector’s item, and we have enough to price them right at $19.99. Again, the listing’s worth a look even if you know this is not your thing.

NEW IN LB’S BOOKSTORE…

The first thing to report is that we’ve just cleared every single post from this page. The long list of titles had become far too unwieldy to be of use, and it was difficult to keep it up to date. Our one-of-a-kind items have to be deleted when they disappear from our shelves, and other items change price when we put them on special, and it’s all confusing for you and a headache for us. So instead we’ll use this page for announcements.

And there’ll be plenty of those. Last I looked, we had 182 different items on the virtual shelves of LB’s eBay Bookstore. When I finish this post, I’ll be adding ten anthologies; I spent some time this morning scanning their covers. As we open more boxes and probe the darker corners of some of the storage lockers, and as I convince LB that he’d be well advised to share his treasures with the world rather than hold on to them for the benefit of generations yet unborn, well, I’ll have new items to commend to your attention.

Meanwhile, here’s an update, with some links to make the hunt easier:

LARGE PRINT BOOKS – 42 of them at last count, and all but one prices at $9.99. (The other one’s $4.99, I think because the cover’s damaged.) Most of these are one of a kind, some are hardcover, some are trade paperback, and all are signed by the author.

AUDIOBOOKS – 43 of these, and 19 of them are CD, 24 are cassette, and one’s an MP3 download. Except for sets (three Tanner books, four Chip Harrison books, and the 48-hour two-volume audiobook of Enough Rope) everything’s on sale for $9.99. And again, they’re almost all one-copy-only.

THE SPECIALISTS – Still selling like crazy, and still on special for $4.99.

BREAK WRITER’S BLOCK NOW! by Jerrold Mundis. A great item for us for years for $19.99, and really moving nicely at our special price of $5.99.

THE BURGLAR WHO STUDIED SPINOZA and THE BURGLAR IN THE RYE. We’ll adjust the price upward when our stock gets a little lower, but for now we’re able to hold the special price of $9.99 each.

We’ve got high-ticket items as well: hardcover first editions of the first two Scudder novels, limited editions and special printings. And, because you’d be surprised how many people ask, let me say again that all the books (except the one by Jerrold Mundis, which LB didn’t write) are signed by him. If they’re anthologies, he’s signed his story; if he wrote an introduction, he’s signed that. The man’s a signing fool.

So drop by the store and see what we’ve got!

  1. Is there a limited edition of Hit Me? Could you give me particulars. Thanks

    • Christine, indeed there is. The eBay listing has fairly complete information in the product description. I can add that, of the 500 signed and numbered copies, we have about 35 remaining at this point—so if you want one, I’d advise prompt action!

I am in a mystery book club at my local library. We were hoping to read Hit Man, but our library does not have enough copies for everyone to borrow. I did not see Hit Man listed on eBay. Are there copies for sale? I would like to pick up a few copies to supplement the copies that are available from the library. Thank you.
